OK, if I were climbing with a partner, I could probably live with this:



Sort of.

First of all, I would not waste eight feet of precious haul line! I would use a separate Docking Tether to dock the load, as described [way] above. The Munter Mule shown is basically the single-rope version of the Load Release Knot.

As for the separate clove hitch backup, if I were climbing WITH PARTNER I suppose it couldn't hurt, but again if I were climbing alone, I wouldn't bother. My Docking Tether is 7 mm and quite sufficient for my piggage.

Cuz I know me - if I CAN bugger it up, I WILL. [This has been empirically proved.]
