I haven't climbed anything weird but I know that ever since I started climbing I now look at a lot of things as "an opportunity to climb". It's scary... just walking home from the library I look at every building in a new way thinking, "I could climb that". This'll probably plauge me for the rest of my life won't it? *sigh* Once I get more confident I'll definitely have to start freaking people out. Nobody expects people to be able to climb up and down strange objects. But if you just went for it they'd probably get fairly weirded out...

I had a 15 minute traverse set up at work that I would climb after everyone went home at night, until recently. It started with two door jams a double access door (the tops when left open) some relief trim up to a recessed ceiling in the elevator foyer, back over to some relief trim and then six cubicle tops. I did this every night for about 6 weeks when one morning while waiting for the elevator to go home my boss and the building engineer were talking about repainting the walls. The engineer said it looks like someone is climbing the walls here. my boss, who knows I climb gave me the dirtiest look and I haven't climbed it since it was repainted.

There's a nightclub in Glasgow (the Shack) which has potential for some great bouldering problems on the wall inside. Never got to try much of it though. Apparently it's frowned upon.

The local 300 ft. water tower.

There was a latter up the side but it was really exposed.

Hey Overlord,
I think I've done that climb you were talking about...

It's a 5.6, right?

I've been told that I used to climb EVERYTHING when I was little... I was able to get onto the counters before I could walk (or so I'm told...) and could escape easily from my walker and high chair.

When I was four or five, I tackled this huge pine tree behind my house... I guess I got around 150 feet up before my mom found me.

Lately, I've been climbing the bridges in town (both wooden and stone), and we have discovered that the lockers at school are climbable.

My little brother tried to climb the base of the Statue of Liberty while we were waiting in line to go up last summer.... They caught him about 10 feet up.

When I was in Munich Germany some time ago, before I ever had a desire to climb, some nice German people took me into the alps on a hike. They took me to this spire of rock called "the Little Man of Etal," maybe 60 or 80 feet high, I can't quite remember. These hard men and women gave it a shot but turned back. They egged me on. There was a chain on the side of this vertical spire to help pull yourself up; it was slippery polished rock as I recall, and I had on slippery sneakers. I made it all the way to the top. A pretty good feat because there was a metal tube on top with a book to sign in if you made it. Then the problem of downclimbing hit me hard. However, I made it. My name is still up there on "the Little Man of Etal" somewhere in the Bavarian Alps, between here and the Zugspitze.

I once A1 climbed out onto a suspended sculpture, with the intent of rearranging the parts. It was supposed to look like a fish, but it was a bunch of rusted junk. I figured that a little rearranging would show it to be what it was.

Mistake.

The cops grabbed me and filed a complaint with the District Attorney for Grand Theft. I was lucky to plead out to malicious mischief.

That was when I was 22, a college student, and figured that I could get extra credit.

Never overestimate the sense of humor of the police.

not really weird, but it was at an overlook at the lake here where i live and there was a swingset with a frame built around it and roof also...it was good practice. thats where i taught my buddy what i know about crimpers and dyno's and so on...and now after going bouldering only 3 times he wants us to take another 2 hr drive to go climb again...i guess the swingset was a good start!

playground equipment ( big plastic slide that opened with the head of dragon)
Great boulder problem
went from sloper of ear to pocket of dragon's eyes to undercling of its mouth (quite a reach) and finish by pocket of his nostril. Harder to explain then i thought.

There are eight foot windows in my apartment framed with large molding. I climb them like a monkey when I am board out of my skull.

If anyone boulders or climbs in the 'Dacks and is will to take a newbie out drop me an e-mail before I get evicted.
Cheers!... now where are those bananas?

i bouldered from the base of my girlfriends staircase to the second floor. Her parents came home while I was doing it...they just stared at me like I was a freak. She was just laughing the whole time. I finished it though, despite the fact that her mom still gives me crap about it followed by a strange look!
