if you're having trouble sleeping on a big wall, you're probably not doing your share of the workload.

No harness. Just sleep in a webbing swami made from spare webbing, sling, whatever... When was the last time you heard of someone falling out of their portaledge while sleeping anyways? Not that its impossible.........

Sigh...You penis-owners are lucky on walls. We chicks have to bail over the side of the ledge to pee. I use web-o-lette wrapped around my waist no a decent natural ledge, but in a portaledge there are good reasons for me to keep on the harness.

I was climbing with my 7 year old daughter this past Monday and she had to pee but wouldn't because there were about 20 kayakers going by very close to us. She finally had to go so badly that I convinced her to go into a gap in the rocks near the Potomac. She was in a Trango Junior full body harness and I had to take it off to get her shorts off. Long story short, I'm going to design a hanging potty for her since she is most likely going to be the person who climbs big walls with me (all the rest of my children are far too sane and have no cravings for big walls).

Do you want to be my prototype tester? Give me some requirements. I've seen some pictures of you on the big walls and another 100 pounds or so of gear probably wouldn't slow you down too much!

Treetop makes some plastic applesauce jars that seem to be wide enough for my better half. If you can hit a wide-mouth nalgene in a moving car, this ought to work for you. Wide-mouth Aquafina works well for me. No need to lean over the edge anymore, and you can spare the ropes and the route when you're at a belay.
