It would seem my rating has been the same for the last week even after several posts, updates to the RDB, adding some new product and a review. Not That I Really Care or Anything :D OK maybe just a little for the ego.

Hmmm... several days, or several weeks? I turned off a cron job that updated the ratings a while ago cause Trevor said he'd put a lot of stuff into TenFold... I'll turn it back on and see if that corrects matters. (edit: nope, it's still running...)

ah-ha! i found the problem: it seems that this site has a rating system and some people actually feel better about themselves because a piece of software assigns them a rating. ignore both and the problem is solved. hah! ratings... when you think about it, it's pretty sad and hilarious; contributing some climbing junk to a website for 'points.'

the software senses whether you care or not, and docks you if you do . . . (ironically, post whore = bodhisattva) Reminds me of when Lisa Simpson's teachers were on strike; Evaluate me! Please! Ballsy to admit it? or just sarcat-stic?

Not That I Really Care or Anything :D OK maybe just a little for the ego. Due to heavy site activity all the points for July were given out early in the month, so people, like you, who were active on the site in the latter part of the month don't get any points. Better luck next month. -Jay

You guys seem to underestimate the value of the rating. I've found that every thousand points equates to one extra grade in climbing. I've moved from 5.11a to 5.11c just by spamming. T.

This is fixed. Luckily, with 25,000 users only 2 or 3 users politely remind us the ratings didn't change. I really don't think this is a big of a deal as most people are making it out to be. But it is someone useful to determine how active a member is. But we are talking about broad strokes here like the difference between 1000 and 10,000 or 100,000 and 500,000. Trevor

When the only visible thing we get for adding to the site is a rating, it seems like a good thing to keep running. ;) Thanks Trevor. And I'd just like to acknowledge that I've gotten a lot more than just a rating. I'm not ungrateful for all this place has given me. :)

Actually you could cinch the Poms up real tight in their harnesses and stack 'em.. ...But you'd have to watch it as you climbed past -- they like to nip at knees and ankles! If they got a good hold on you, they could pull right out of the crack.

Thanks for fixing the stalled ratings. And thanks for the new profile setup! It looked great before and now it looks....greater! I especially like the photo setup and the partners. The tick list will be cool, too. I did find someone on my partners list who I don't know. Did I accidently put them on my list or did they accidentally put me on theirs?

Normally if I add someting to the database my rating changed after one day. seven days ago I added 70+ routes to the database and my rating is still the same. It looks like the ratings are stalled again.

if you want a lotta points, go to 8a.nu  Isn't it completely narcissic to take care of one's own points? If the points were automatically displayed when one logs in, it would OK, but to know them, one has to click on the profile... You go see your profile to look at your points??? Tell me, Mirror, who is the most beautiful in this kingdom?
