In reply to: I know plenty of guys stop in to read what weve posted often enough... --- Groan. I find this aspect unnerving to say the least. I wish there was some way to have ladies room only. Knowing that guys may be reading my girly posts makes me uncomfortable and alot less likely to post there.

Dunno what we the management of this site can do about that. We could perhaps make this a private forum for registered usergroup members but that would preclude many members actually finding this forum and participating in it. I`ve noticed that a few of the guys participate in this forum from time to time and by and large their participation seems to have been welcomed or at least tolerated. The mods of this forum jump on misbehaviour fairly quickly so the tards are seen off in a timely manner. I think that the guys are genuinely interested in what you girls talk about and that curiousity could be helping guys develop ways to take your needs into consideration.

I find the men who do post aren't writing crap (at least no more crap then the women that post on this forum, and certainly less crap than you find other places on RC.com). I would be very upset if men wern't allow to post here any more. Heck, the latest hot topic of the week in the Ladies Room has been posted by a man ("Is this discrimination?"). I guess I assume that the men that come to this forum will either handle conversations about periods and peeing in a bottle (along with our emotional issues and us trying to feel comfortable in a sport dominated by men) or they'll not read/post to the stuff in here. As per the original poster....I'm sure the people who post in this forum don't give two figs about having a men's room or not, its just another forum that we can post/read (or ignore). If you're serious go make your suggestion to the admins of the site and explain to them why you want a men's room, else stop trying to be a smart ass.

The whole site is "The Mens Room"... Hang around enough, and you'll find that even some of the females exude more testosterone than some of the men. What "male oriented issues" could you possibly want to discuss ??? :? I for one haven't even browsed that forum in over a year, as I'm just not that interested in nor do I have anything to add to any "female related issues". Or, maybe I'm just not lonely enough to browse the "Ladies Room"... It's a chick thing, and last time I looked I had "Two Turntables and a Microphone" in my pants.

One of the very first posts I ever made, was in the "Ladies Room", and it was taken the wrong way by many of the women here... I was instantly contacted by Philbox, and warned with a deathblow to the head, with a #7 Tricam! After chatting w/ Phil (as well as the women) and explaining my post, it was allowed to stay and grew into several pages... This was a thread concerning my wife, and "female related issues", that I simply needed to discuss with other women in order to seek information. The "Ladies Room" should not be restricted from men, but as I quickly discovered (and Phil already pointed out), it is very well protected and guarded by the sysadmins!

Don't you know if there was a mens room it would be discrimination. Most of the gyms (and by gyms I mean workout, not climbing) around her have rooms for only women to work out, but I have never seen one with a men only room. And I could go on about this for days, but I have come to terms with the fact that I am a 27 year old non-minority male so I alway get the short end of the stick. I think men don't need a room cause we will make due with what ever is handy, and don't care what other men, or women most of the time (unless she is a really hot babe) think about it, and we don't need other men to tell us it is ok, or it will work, cause even if they say do not do it that way, we will try it anyway.

BLUETROUT, for most of us grown-ups we can handle women talking about they're periods, boy trouble, and any other topics that women might put more consideration to. woopdy doo...so you girls talk about crushes, climbing with thongs or implants, I'm not over here jerkin off to your posts. I think the womens forum is helpful in that it shows a perspective of women and how they view climbing, how it fits in they're lives, and also the goals that they have. They have just as much ambition and it would seem childish to lock the womens thread for certain people. I am happy that menstration threads and such are not on the front page but when I click on the women's room, what is there...is there. Otherwise it would be like using a womens bathroom and complaining that there are only stalls. Plus like Phil said...it's highly moderated. That way they keep small dick, porn watchin perverts (who would fumble they're words in front of a real women) from interfering with conversations. So amen to the women who feed they're passion for climbing, and to the ones that amaze me at my local gym.

Can you imagine how boring a Men's Room would be? First off it would be lonely...Men do not flock in groups to the restroom Second, you would have the sketchy lurker who is the same guy who pisses at the urinal with BOTH hands against the wall...you know the type I am talking about. Third, it would get so untidy and none of us would take responsability for cleaning up... Long live the ladies room... As for me...that patch of shrubbery looks great to me. P

Knowing that guys may be reading my girly posts makes me uncomfortable and alot less likely to post there. blue trout answered your question perhaps with out realizing it. Many women are "uncomfortable" knowing that men might read some of their questions on the other hand very few men are "uncomfortable" knowing women read their posts regardless of subject matter. It is perhaps the same reason many (not all) schools or gyms provide private showers for the women while the men's showers are a room with 15 shower heads sticking out of the wall. It is a generalization but women tend to be more modest or reserved about certain things than men.

That may well be the most ironic thing I have ever read... Anyway, I can't think of a justification for a Men's Room. I can't think of any issues I'd really be uncomfortable with a woman reading. When I think of most groups of climbers I run into, the men outnumber the women. Sometimes the numbers are even, and a couple times I've run into female-only groups. In short, this may be one of the few places for female climbers to connect in numbers. I don't feel like men need a forum just because women have one. I've never been a drum-circle kind of guy myself. YMMV. mark

Naw - they always smell bad. And why the hell is the floor sticky?! Personally, as a male, I don't feel the need to go check out what's going on in the ladies room. I assume that at least some of the women posting there don't want guys to read their posts so I try to respect that.

That may well be the most ironic thing I have ever read... There is no irony in his point, for he speak's the truth. I fully support the ladies having their room.... And to answer a question asked earlier....I would quess issue's that could be discussed in the "mens room" would be things like: Prostate cancer, does wearing a harness for long periods of time increase the chance's? Harness's that don't crunch your junk. Hernia's can you get one climbing...and how to avoid it. Another harness question how does it affect sperm count?? I see it as a place where men could ask question relating to climbing and male specific health OR question's about women- this would help solve the "ladies room" lurking.....this would take some of the less climb ing related stuff out of other forums. It doesn't all have to be potty humor and "who's got the biggest wang" contest's. If taken the right way it could be very beneficial. josh

I was denied a job, despite being the fourth best qualified candidate by score (they were hiring 6) because of "affirmative action" quotas. The employer took the top 3 scores, then took the top 3 "non-caucasian male" scores. Talked to my lawyer, and was told I didn't have a case. So yeah... white males do have hard times catching breaks.

Hey,..I fumble my words in front of women all the time. What are you trying to say? Actually, if memory serves, I think it was a regular web-search that lead me to a thread that happened to be part of the Lady's Room that first brought me to this site...so yes, I'm guilty of visiting the Lady's room from the start, but I kindof also saw it as a place where I could go, tap on the door, and ask if I could come in to ask a question of the experts. I grew up with all sisters (shoot, I was a girl-scouts troop mascot for crying out loud) (the youngest is learning to climb!) and my climbing partner is also a wonderful young lady, and so long as I'm welcome, I'd love to hear what the girls are talking about from time to time... especially if it might benefit my partner (who basically never visits the site for lack of keeping track of her laptop, 'nother story) or my sister. All in all, I would say that I hope that people could be generally respectful of others on this site, but ESPECIALLY if involves someone letting their guard down in search of a genuine answer... as with Lady's Room items. I'm sorry that a lot of times it seems like people aren't careful of feelings when they're fragile, and that basically anyone can read what they want and think their own sick thoughts. If it will help you girls feel better, I'll stay out of the Lady's Room, but your genuine insight will be missed. - bret
