This site is better than climbing gyms for picking up partners because it is loaded with people who actually climb. RC.COM rocks!!! I only wish they had shirts with a logo on it so you could spot and pick up members out at the crags. I'd wear one, as long as it wasn't made of cotton  It'd be a great way to advertise too

I've never climbed with anyone from this site, though I've at least met a few at the Seneca gathering. Weather wasn't conducive to more extensive socializing. And happily, none of them got to watch my pitiful rendition of "Rob climbing". I seem to be crossing paths with costellobr, so it may be just a matter of time. ;) Rob

The people ath I've met have been amazing. I'd have to say about 85% of the people ath I've hooked up with from here have become life long friends. and even if we didn't get to go climbing, I've still met awsome people. climbinganne is still on my MUST MEET list, as are a host of others. and even if I don't like what some of you have to say, we're all still part of that wondeful family of climbers. be safe out there and avoid Curts new belay technique

I met my current climbing partner through this site. We are what each of us was looking for in a partner. I still think Euroford should practice spooning with me in case we have to bivy sometime (haha).

Wow. Lots of responses and lots of love in here. Maybe I should join you... I have never met anyone off of the internet for any reason. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I just don't trust it. A couple of my friends have met several people on rc.com and other climbing websites and had great luck finding nice people that are safe and competent climbers. Another friend of mine has met a couple of women from dating sites and formed good, healthy relationships. Two of my friends are practically swimming in pu..um, I mean, get lots of one night stands from the internet. One friend met a semi-regular climbing partner/studboy lust interest here. I'm always concerned (afraid?) that I'll end up getting the psycho of the group. What's my effing problem? I even bailed on the last AZ gathering to go climb with a couple of friends instead. Ugh. [insert] Must go to J-tree gathering, must go to J-Tree gathering, must go to J-Tree gathering, must go to J-Tree gathering, must go to J-Tree gathering, must go to J-Tree gathering... [/mantra]
