Dudes, I get first dibs as the bartender. Two years ago I poured 12 gallons of vodka into Red Bull and I still hear about that night. I ran into a stranger in Germany last summer who recognized me as the bartender. I guess he didn't get enough vodka. I'll try to be at it again this year but I have to get up early the next morning to flip flaps. Last year when I showed up to start the coffee at 6:00am Sunday, the party was still going on. Maybe I'll just stay up. Mal

In reply to: Dudes, I get first dibs as the bartender. Two years ago I poured 12 gallons of vodka into Red Bull and I still hear about that night. Mal HOLY CRAP!!! You were the bartender two years ago!!! That was the MOST AMAZING and FUN night of drinking I have ever been a part of. I was so crazy from finishing some Evan Williams, drinking beers...and of course the infamous Red Bull and Vodkas. I danced my ass off with some amazingly hot girl there. My buddies were dumbfounded...I think if you look in the issue of Climbing magazine that had a short blurb about the event, there is a picture of the girl I was dancing with doing the dyno comp (it's only of her back...but when you see this girl's shoulders/back you'll see why I remember it).

The thing I remember about that picture is how close Dale Bard's hands are to her ass. He was having waaaaay too much fun. I think he still tells stories about that night...

At one point I had to take my leg off and hurl it at Dale because he was heckling me. Planted it right in the middle of his chest and left a muddy footprint. For the first time in his life he was speechless.

So Steve, ya going to make the trip this year from the coast for the Rendez Vous? Two weekends in a row, 60 and sunny, can you believe it? The NRG is a different place without all the snow and rain! Maybe we'll luck out this year and have a sunny and warm Rendez Vous!!!

We all know climbers drink ALOT! We were asked last week if we'd help out from 9-10:30, right in time for the DYNO comp!! Come one come all and get your drink prior to watching your fellow climbers FLY! I think we can all share in the duty of helping out comrades get severely intoxicated, don't you? There's gonna be lots of drinks, need lots to pour! And I know that Craig is super excited to perform the duty of Greeter with me on Friday afternoon. What we do for the love of our climbing community. I think it's gonna be a blast. I can't wait!

ANOTHER POINTLESS GATHERING OF n00bs & GUMBS CROWDING THE AREA, CREATING MAJOR IMPACT, AND GETTING IN THE WAY OF PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY WANT TO CLIMB. IT IS ALL ABOUT MARKETING MERCHANDISE TO BEGINNERS AND ESTABLISHING BRAND LOYALTIES. REAL CLIMBERS WOULD NEVER GO NEAR THIS SHITFEST. AND THOSE THAT ARE CLAIMING TO BE REAL CLIMBERS AND ARE GOING ANYWAY? THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SELLOUTS THAT ARE BENEFITTING PERSONALLY FROM THE EXPERIENCE ($$$, OR OPPORTUNITIES FOR $$$, OR FREE GEAR). THEY WILL CONSUME ALL THE BEST FLESH AND LEAVE ONLY THE BONES FOR THE REST OF THE TRIBE TO GNAW UPON.

There's plenty of free beer to go 'round. :D With each and every post, you offer up further proof that you are one of them and have no clue. I suspect you of being one of those that is peppered with freebies so that you can be used like the tool you are to get at these other idiots. I leave you to being the pimp you seem to be.

Let's keep in mind that the people that created and organize the rendezvous are generous and dedicated locals that climb and own the businesses that support climbers that come to the area. The idea behind the rendezvous is to spread awareness about the amazing climbing, to raise money in order to maintain the climbing areas (a recent post here told about how they have put in new anchors and bolts in various popular spots), and to allow those that climb at the NRG to have FUN! It has evolved to be a really amazing event.

This will be my first trip to the NRG and I was wondering if there were any caves in the area? Caving is a lot likle rock climbing, only underground!
