Generally guide books will have the first ascenders name printed with the particular climb that they put up. The seconders name can also be printed there too. Ay least that is what happens in Australia. I know that some European guidebooks do not publish the first ascenders name.

Best sources are Alpine club year books (CA, UK & US) and former Bristih High magazine. Where are you going?

Well, british high mag is now the mag Climbing with the same series though of ascents. I don't think I will go through 15 years of mags to find out though mate... Basically looking at unclimbed peaks in Greenland Stian

I would check maps for potential peaks and call Alpine club library asking if they got any info. I think pretty much everything near the major spots has been climbed already. High issues Sept & Oct 2004 had very extensive information on Greenland. Sent them to the email found on your www-site.

i usually use the AAJ as a source of info on alpine/big wall routes being put up.
