Hey,
I am looking for climbing partners in and around Rio de Janeiro from June till August this year. I can lead to around 6c and have been climbing since I am a little child! :D Most of the time I climb in the Elbsandstein in Germany but I have been to France, Italy and Thailand as well for climbing.
I will be doing an internship in Rio and I am desperately looking for a climbing partner, because I just think I have to use the few month I am over there to climb as much as possible! :D

You'll have no trouble meeting climbers in Rio, just head down to the Sugarloaf and you will meet dozens to choose from! Just don't leave any of your gear at the base.
Casa do Alpinista is good gear shop, but even with the favorable currency exchange rate you'll want to bring your own...the import tax just about doubles the cost of foreign gear. A petzl spirit carabiner may cost you $20US! The next time I visit Brasil, I'm gonna bring a hoard of extra hardware and sell it off to cover my plane ticket/visa!
