with all the discussion of RAW vs. JPEG I thought I'd toss in a nifty trick. If you're shooting RAW and using Photoshop CS or higher, the built in RAW software has a neat feature. On the image size menu on the lower left corner select the first + size. This upsamples using the RAW file rather then JPEG or TIFF after you've exported it. Since this is free (if you own or pirated the $500 program) and the results are excellent it's worth doing when you need a larger format print. for a 6MP native file you can upsample to over 10MP with minimal loss of detail. I'd be interested in seeing a comparison between this and Genuine Fractals but I haven't been impressed by the reviews of GF over standard photoshop upsampling techniques so this might be the best option regardless, and it's built in.
