2007 Vancouver Int’l Mountain Film Festival
Mountain Photo Competition
The VIMFF Mountain Photo Competition is an opportunity for all photographers to present their mountain photography to the public. It is an alternative medium for the sharing of imagery and the exchange of ideas between photographers, mountaineers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers.
Categories:
Mountain Adventure – images depicting mountain sport such as climbing, mountain biking, skiing, mountaineering, etc.
Mountain Culture (People) – images depicting mountain people, their customs and traditions relating to their mountain environment.
Mountain Landscape – scenic images depicting the mountains
Mountain Flora and Fauna - plants and animals found in the mountain environment.
Prizes:
Grand Prize: Two week guided trip for two in Northern Pakistan with Nazir Sabir Expeditions, worth of CAD $6,000 (all inclusive, except for airfare to Islamabad, Pakistan)
Category Winners: Outdoor equipment donated by Arc’teryx, M.E.C., and Helly Hansen.
