I don't know if anyone else noticed this but, every day for the last week or so, I get the SAME 6-8 pics every time i log on. What happened to the old random format that actually had some variety.

Yes, good catch. I just looked at things and there seems to be a problem. The way this is designed to work is that we run a script nightly to evaluate the entire photo database and create a "bucket" of highest-rated pictures to be displayed randomly on the front page the next day. This bucket is created using set parameters, such as the time period over which to evaluate the votes, the minimum number of votes a photo must have, and the total number of photos to put in the bucket. It looks like those setting are currently too strict and we're only getting 7 photos in the bucket. I'll look into this right now.
Jay, your advice (although appreciated  ) is not correct. The user settings you are referring too controls the pictures that are displayed when you go to the top rated photos page, which is not the same as the front page "bucket".

OK, I've updated the script so we'll get a bigger selection of front page photos. It will go into effect starting tomorrow.

Click Photos >>>> Settings, then play with the "Photos Main page Display" box.
Could be wrong, but I think this determines what photo shows up at the top of the Photos Main Page, not the site FP.

Aaarggghhh... still not working. The script was updated, but it looks like it did not run last night. Looking into this...
