Allied Climbers of San Diego (ACSD) “The Allied Climbers of San Diego is a local, environmentally responsible, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and maintaining access to climbing and outdoor recreation.” This group was founded in response to Forest Service proposals to close climbing areas in San Diego County. The precedent set by these closures could be devastating for many similar areas throughout the USA. As of March 14, 2007 the Allied Climbers of San Diego (ACSD) is both a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and an Access Fund Affiliate. We are a diverse group of San Diego climbers unified by our common desire to protect access to climbing areas at the local level. The founding members of ACSD are: Adam Kimmerly, Bill Maki, Erik Roed, Fred Maki, Holly Cheong, Jeff Brown, Josh Higgins, Keli Balo, Kevin Dalfonzo, Kevin Worrall, Randy Leavitt, Sean Shannon, Stacy Roberts, Todd Smith, and Tom Donnelly There are battles on the horizon impacting all climbers and we will need your help. The biggest access threat in San Diego right now has entered a new stage and it is once again time to write letters to the Cleveland National Forest (CNF). The deadline for public comment is April 16th. Please visit our website http://alliedclimbers.org for more information on how to respond to the CNF’s continued threat of closures. We are not yet prepared to accept membership or donations, but we will be very soon, so please stay tuned by checking our website. Please add your name to our email list and forward questions and comments to ACSD’s Access Fund Liaison, spokesperson, and public contact, Todd Smith, at: tsmith@alliedclimbers.org Thank you! From the founding members, ACSD
