For those interested,The Mountain Institute has booked Jake Norton, Climber and Photographer, to give a presentation called It’s Not About the Top:A New Perspective on Everest & Himalayan Culture. The event is next week on Thursday, September 20th, 2007 at the
St. Francis Auditorium, New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts
107 East Palace Avenue, Santa Fe, NM
He will be talking about the other side of these great mountains: the peoples, cultures, and places. Jake has traveled and climbed the world over, including successful ascents of Cho Oyu and both the Nepal and Tibet side of Mt. Everest. Since 1992, Jake has made 20 trips to the Himalayan region to study, teach, climb, and work.
