I will be in California and Nevada on business and will try to get my sorry butt to Yosemite by car (and climb some classic granite...yeah!). Does anybody have reliable info on how long it takes by car from the San Francisco bay area or Las Vegas to Yosemite? Thanks.

From my place in downtown San Francisco it's exactly 200 miles to the Valley floor. It typically takes me from 3.5 to 4 hours to make the drive.

The short cut to Yos (actually THRU Yos) is closed for winter. You'll have to come at it from SF.

It takes around 6-7 hours from Las Vegas if you go south on I-15 and then cut north on the west side of the sierra's.
