Are those rubber "o"s any good for training the forearms? Anyone knows a good workout routine with this gadgets? Thanx!

No "o". Use wrist roller, wrist curl, or the gold's gym forearm trainer. These things do not make you a better climber, but they do boost vascularity in the forearms, which may help to ward off the pump. I am of the opinion that these devices are more helpful to ice climbers than rock climbers. Why? They make the forearm muscles bigger to help manhandle the tools. Rip em out of the ice, snap em back in with authority. To a rock climber, the fingers are so much more important to stimulate, but ice climbers just have to grip the tool and rip. These exercises will help you do that. But...never waste your time with such devices if there is real ice/rock to climb.

Open a newspaper.
Grab a sheet one-handed in the middle of the spread page.
Crumple that sheet up into as tight a ball as you can with one hand.

Switch hands.

Repeat.

Please try this. It rocks.

You are right, the "newspaper" training technique is very cool. Thanks.

Try doing finger rolls with a very heavy dumbbell.

Sit on a bench and lean on one elbow on your leg to keep the load off your back. Then pick up a heavy dumbbell with the other hand leaving the arm pointing straight down. Roll the bar up into a fist and then down to where it is just on your finger tips. I do these slowly and use a weight heavy enough that I can only do 5 or 6 during about 45 seconds.

Oh, and don't drop the weight on your foot.

Metolius has a great ball to use too. It has the regular ball to squeeze but also has finger rings to work on your fingers as you expand your hand. I just got one and it is a great work out but you have to be careful on how you pull your fingers out of the rings or you will pull the rubber rings from the ball. You have to see one to understand but so far it's been fun while I'm surfing at night and in my down time at work. I just do as many sets of 20 squeezes with 20 hand expansions as I can get in a day. YOu should be able to pick it up at your local climbing store or only at Metolius.com
