No it wasn't an accident. Someone got stranded in the park and the rangers had to rescue the person. Ambulances were called, but no one injured. Thank goodness!

I wish they had turned the ambulances engine and lights off then.. probably kept most of camp slime up until they left. glad no one was hurt though.

The real story is pathetic, and the people involved should be ashamed to call themselves climbers. 911 is for true emergencies, not inconvenient situations.

Rob, you can't leave us hanging like that! Lost in the Gunks?? What, on the Overcliff road? Couldn't find the stairmaster? This doesn't make any sense.

I will say nothing. I am merely opening the door for the offending party to explain their situation. I will leave adequate time to do so.

So you'll state outright that the "people involved should be ashamed to call themselves climbers," calling their situation "pathetic," but now you are taking the high and mighty path by allowing them to explain themselves before casting judgement? Seems like you did this a little backwards, no?

Come on, this is RC.noob where we delight in all the damning details that the unfortunate folks will be most inclined to gloss over. Give us your take on what went down and if the parties involved want to set you straight so be it.

Shameless bump I want to know what happened so I can laugh my ass off (assuming no injury). If no one is posting what happened, I might just have to make something up to keep everyone happy. Out with it!
