well... I'm pretty fed up with sunsets... Just nice colors, sometime a nice shape, but nothing more. If at least it was sunrises I would think wow this dude woke up early!

The first one is great except the HUGE piece of dust in the middle of the shot. The other ones need longer exposures, they are really fuzzy/grainy. The last one you face is blown out (over exposed). But if you like them that's all the really matters

Not bad, but great sunset shots need some 'substance' to them. Just a picture of pretty colors and textures of the clouds does get a little boring. Try to include some silhouettes of trees, bushes, or maybe strange rock formations. Longer exposures could have helped the later photos too. If your friend is really into photography, you might suggest getting an ND-gradient filter for his camera (assuming it's an SLR and not just a point-and-shoot). A 4 stop ND-grad works wonders for darkerning the sky so you can bring out the detail in the foreground. Also, slide film will give you much finer grain and incredible color. Attached is one of my best sunset shots. The sky was awesome, but just the sky and water in the picture wouldn't be enough. The silhouette of the pier fills the image out nicely. http://www.leonadivide.com/adam/Scripps2a.jpg Tell your friend to keep shooting... getting that perfect shot takes a lot of practice. ~Adam

I'm not much of photographer but for the most part the pics look pretty good, but there is still room for improvement. Keep plugin away.
