I'm just curious? I voted for South America, because my girl friend took a three month trip to Brazil. And I would love to go down there to see her, and do some climbing.

I chose South America as well, mainly because I've always wanted to go there and I know there's some good conglomerate climbing there. I'm from Australia so I didn't need to vote for that as I've done heaps of climbing hear(don't get me wrong the climbing is great here). I also like places that are new and different to the type of rock I'm use to climbing on.

I chose Asia; Thailand, Vietnam, beaches, cheap living, coconuts and beaches.
Oh, and some rad remote climbing

I'd also like to check out Hampi, India for the bouldering.

I chose Europe for a few reasons that vary quite a bit. First, I grew up in Belgium & when I was about thirteen I was out for a picnic with my family perched high up on a cliff on the Meuse River (near Dinant) and in the middle of lunch a guy's head pops up over the edge. My brother and I belly crawled up to the ledge to see down the sheer cliff face and about 100' down we saw the guy's partner clipped in to a hanging belay: I'd like to return to that cliff and be the one pokng my head up over the edge to surprise another family! Another reason is that, especially when it comes to mountaineering, climbing is civilised on the continent: end the day at a nice alpine hut with a good meal and warm bunk. It's much easier to get into the high alpine in the Alps than it is getting to our Coast Mountain range or the Rockies. There's a lot to be said for easy access! Also, I miss Europe and would like to see it in the context of climbing (I didn't start until I'd moved back to Canada)especially the Verdun Gorge & Fontainbleu. One thing's for sure though: I'd just like to visit Europe for some climbing, when it comes to quality of life, I'll take my little bit of peace & quiet here in the Pacific Northwest anyday!

I chose Asia because I have already traveled Europe and would like to see some new terrain. Also, I think that Nepal, Vietnam, India, and even China would have some really great remote climbing. Pakistan would be cool too, except for the fact that I could be taken prisoner for ransom by some terrorist organization. But who am I kidding? I am not worth that much.

One of my goals is to climb on all the continents.

Do they have sport routes in Antartica or a boulder. I am not attaching spikes to my feet.

I think I will have repeat somethign here my mom often told me while growing up. "Why would you want to leave the US on vacation, when it would take you years to see all the neat and historic and CLIMBABLE areas we have here", (and I will through in Canada too:)

From Lower BC to Yosemite; RRG to The Gunks, Utah (Mt Biking included) to Climbing the faces of Rushmore. I think we have tons of different rock types and areas with weather to suit any time of the year

Russ - I agree, but it would be cool to visit a bunch of different culture, see historical sites hundreds or thousands of years old.

that too is a draw...but that takes way more money than piling into your Personal Climbing Rig (PCR) and driving accross the country. I have seen lots of different states, but would now like to go back thru hitting the major crags and hooking up with those RC.com members to show me around.

I chose North America for a few reasons:

Yosemite and El Cap (I actually will climb it this summer)
J-Tree (for winter)
California Girls (ya know, the blond, hot, surgically augmented type)
Year-round climbing
Democracy

Actually, it seems that California has all I really need. Although I would like to visit Europe again and go climbing with my buddy in France. Also, I would like to visit all those Wild On... places as seen on E! with all the gorgeous scantily-clad chickies.

But any country who sells beer (except Japan - Sapporro is crap) is fine. You have to have something to do after climbing. I guess Ireland would be the best choice for that (guess why).

And I have NO desire to freeze my arse off on Everest or any other frozen snow-slog like that.

TRADitionally yours,

Addiroids

I have dreams of climbing many
places on earth.
But for now I chose Europe.
Ireland and England are calling and I
must go.
To see a friend in Dublin Ireland, and to
climb whatever I can there,
And to England to hook up and rock
with a fellow(ess)member of rc.com.
Look out Angela, here comes Jim.

Asia,been to Nepal,India, and Thailand.
The Khumbu region is absolutely stunning, looking forward to a trip and climb in Tibet. Thailand is the perfect trip after, lay in the sun on the beach and hit the limestone for a totally different vibe.

I chose the Ice cause for about the same amount of money as it would cost to go to everest, you can climb virgin peaks. it's about the only place left where you can do a first ascent and name your mountian.

Europe has the best climbin but i chose north america because i aldready live in europe.

Europe has almost every thing u need. Britain, Protugal, France, Spain All have enrivalled climbing and a community to match. Islands like corsica are in abundance and bouldering at font(what can i say) its amazing. Europe continues to amze me!

North America though is probably just as good, and change is always better.

Addiroids, you think Ireland has the best beers??? What a big mistake Belgium has way more AND way better beers then any country in the world!!! Unfortunately the climbing options are pretty limited. So I guess the best would be to climb in France and to wind down in Belgium (Actually you should have a bottle of Duvel-they have that in CA and it's a belgian beer-after you top out on the nose. That's about as close as you'll ever get to heaven!). Still, because the grass is always greener.....I vote for Australia because it's one continent I haven't been to yet
