a typical day of donie, when its finally the time for drk to lead a route.
it s finally time that i pay close attention......................................................................and pray
sidenote: for phrasing purposes allow the idea of time to pass by between each dialogue. just like when ur talking climbing.........u'll see
Setting: a crystal clear blue sky, super sandstone nearby, and we just got a little red in the eye.................................................skip the rackin and lets get down to businness, kodos says we'll warm up on this 10b R
nrmal occurances occur, moves done, gear placed, sh@t spewed etc...........
drk: "alright, looks like i'm comin up on the business!"
donie: "i'm right with u dude!"
drk: "this is definitely the crux!"
don: "right with u! u got it!"
drk: thinks ( didn't i tell that fecker years ago not to say that to me?!$@)
"let me just see if i can get a peice in!"
drk:tinkering for a few minutes, "feck it, bren im goin!"
donie:"OK!"
drk: (to the rock) "come on u stupid son of a beetch! give me a feckin hold, u slimy bitch................ bren im goin for it........."
donie: tries to be encouraging, "come on, u got it!"
drk: NO! I don't feckin have it!!!!!#@$#$@.......................................but i'm feckin going for it anyway!!!!!!!!
donie-shifts and feels a tingle of excitement in his spine, feathers the rope through the device, his grip tightens. Here we go he thinks, shakes off that last little exchange because he understands...................the fear...........the brink..........the ifidontdothisiminaworldofsh@tplace.......................ground zereo baby......
donie: "Ok!"
drk: "bro i m in some shit here and that last peice isn't so good!"
donie: "OK! right w/u!"
drk: (grunts, undistinguishable cursing) "comeon mudafecka, com on, just gimme one godem hold,you usless shit fecker,one fuckin hold!"
donie:..................................watches on, and holds tite.
drk: "this is the business flambonie, and i'm not goin back"
donie: "rip it up!"
the next few seconds seem like minutes as the adrenalin rushes through both climber and through the rope to the belayer.................
donie watches on.....drk must have it........but why hasn't he placed more gear?
drk: pausing, looking for gear
"dude im in a deeeep pile of big feckin shit!"
frantikmovements/grunts ensue .............................................................................................................
donie: says all he can..................................... "OK!"
and hopes the crazy fecker would just put in a piece.....
drk: im feckin hosed bro!%@%$%@@!&*%87998&^*
donie: says nothing,watches on
drk: (inaudible curses........) alright, alrite, business district!! dude! watch me, the feckin peice is shet!!!!!!!!!!!!$#$%^^$$# come on puzzypecieofsh@t!!!!!!!!!cecksuckinfecker!!!
donie: muffles excited chuckling..............shifts
and braces himself for the billionth time......

well, its more of a overall memory of climbing with him mny a time, and not from any specific trip or day persay.
just a conglemeration if you will persay.
a matter of recognizable recognition if you will.
designed with undetectable supervision persay, if you will.
and a great impersonational characterization of maculated proportions.

Hilarious. I climbed next to him in RR two weekends ago, and while I didn't see him actually climbing the routes he and fran did, I sure enjoyed the on ground descriptions of some stuff in the past. He is a really funny guy, and definately not an a$$hole like some people think on this site. He sure is passionate about climbing and loves to make people laugh, intentionally or not!! I am also grateful to him for letting me stay with him and his family during that weekend.
