tgreene and I are going to Mississippi Palisades for Memorial Day Weekend for some light climbing and some heavy fun. We'll be there Thursday the 27th through Monday the 31st. Those that wish to join and make a gathering of it should sound off here and let us know if you are interested. Tim said that sites are non-reservable and heard from Park Management that it is busy there at that time of year so it is best for a person to get there very early Friday morning to get a site. Better yet, arrive Thursday if you can as we are. Just so people know: Drinking is not allowed, but it will be "overlooked" if it is kept very low key and that we need to be quiet. Offenders will be ticketed if "caught" (a $75 dollar fine). Sites allow two tents and only four (4) people. Get there early! Hope to see you there! Steve

From what I've read, the climbing is rated .4 - .11, so there should be something for everyone. As Steve mentioned, we'll be arriving midday on Thursday, to get a good campsite. We'll each snag one site, so at the very least we'll have access to 2 sites next to each other, that will be able to hold 8 bodies total.

Excellent - that sounds fun. I checked out a few web sites and it looks like a great place to just hang out. :) I will check my schedule and see if I can make it. Ahh, are there going to be any other girls there? I have not met any of you and I feel a little weird going to meet a group of guys in a state park. Does that make me odd?! Not saying I won't do it but I may get a few stern warnings from people about the "dangers of the Internet!" he he.

One for sure, but other than that you have NOTHING to worry about. I'm leaving the whips and chains at home and the bondage rack just doesn't fit into the trunk, so you'll be fine. :D Just run when you hear the banjos play...

maww: You have nothing to worry about, so feel free to join us... I've been married over 12 years now, so as far as other women are concerned, I may as well be gay! :? {edit} I see you're from Wilwaukee, so if you're wanting to come down on Thursday as well, you and Wildtrail may want to consider car-pooling to save on fuel.

He he..you guys are funny. I hate banjos..I'd run regardless! I don't think I can take that Friday off so I will probably have to come down by myself. I have warned Wild Trail previously but just so everyone else is aware, I am a big ole newb. ;) But I'm always looking to meet others so I'm happy to meet you all. See you soon!

No problem about being a noob. You're a noob. I suck. Who cares. Climb 5.0 or climb 5.?? It doesn't matter. I'll be scratching and clawing at 5.4's all weekend and I don't care. Like I said, there'll be plenty of us on hand with experience to help you out. :)

Also, two of my friends are coming down as well with me. One is jafarr and the other is his lovely girlfriend Amanda. They're great cooks, so be nice and maybe they'll whip up their famous brats boiled in beer and onions and potatoes/vegies 'n spices on da grill! YUM!

My local buddy that is wanting to learn to climb (never done it) just called and is in for sure, and will be riding up with me early Thursday... We may even leave in the morning, so we can scout the place. I also have another buddy from Iowa that is a non-climber, that will probably be rolling over just to hang out and party with us for a few days. 8^)

Sweet! Let us know if you are coming, so we can plan a vegan variation of the meals to accomodate you... The Gumbo would be a no brainer, since you could just pick out the sausage, unless you would need it cooked seperately in the first place. Just let us know!

In reply to: I'm thinking of making a big pot of either Gumbo or Jambalaya... Leaning more towards the gumbo though! :P Yum! I'm thinking on eating Ramen, mainly. Gumbo/Jumbalaya---*droooool* Not a lot of spare fundage, so Ramen it will be. However, hope you don't mind if I sneak a spoonful of the Gumbo!

I think we should do community food, and each couple or person contribute to each days dinner... I'll do a huge pot of Gumbo for Friday night.

I'll see what I can do about that. Money is very tight. If I can't help contribute monetarily, I'll gladly do the dishes for people for providing food and lovely din-dins. Fair enough?
