Kinesthetic Awareness Climbing is very good for learning kinesthetic awareness. So are, Archery, throwing knives, darts, shooting, golf, racquet sports, speed bags, pool. Take for example, the drunk test of touching your nose with your finger, while your eyes are closed. You have a kinesthetic awareness of your nose in relation to your finger. Find a regular toggle type wall mounted light switch Touch the switch with a finger of your right hand. Stand at arms length away from the wall, with your body perpendicular to the wall so that you are looking parallel with the wall. (no peeking) Drop your hand to your side, relax. Then reach out (without looking) and grab the light switch without touching the wall or the switch plate. Then find ways to make it more challenging. Now do the same thing with your feet in some way. =-=-=- Put a dime on the ground in front of you big toe. Close your eyes and take three steps forward. Now reverse those three steps in the exact manner that you made them. Open your eyes and look down to find the dime right in front of your big toe. =--==-=-=- Walk around a room with your eyes shut. Try to sense things with your feet before you stub your toe on them. =-=-=-=-= Grab on to two good handholds and work on doing foot sequences like three or four move dance steps. Boom, boom, boom. One even rhythm, no mess, no fuss. Now reverse it with the same speed and rhythm. Now, freestyle the same sort of sequence. (throw in random holds and techniques) Now do the original sequences without looking at your feet. =-=-=-=-=-=-=- Dead hang on a 45 degree roof and practice putting your foot on. Precisely. Practice toe/heels Heel hooks Rocking dyno's. Toe drags. =-=-=-= Practice going through each muscle group in your body and consciously relaxing it. See which muscles need to be tensed in order to stand there, and which do not. Use this technique for everything you do while climbing. Minimize wasteful tension. -=-=-= Reinforcing neural pathways through the use of visualization. (each time you visualize doing something, your brain sends a signal to the muscles that will perform the action, hardwiring.) -=-=-=--==-==- Jumping from the end of a log to another. (one foot per log) Do running, no hands slabs and finish by hooking one leg over the top of the boulder for a no hands stance. Practice climbing blindfolded. Practice dead points, double dynos full body dyno; campus dead points and dynos.

Some of these things need better descriptions. I honestly don't understand how the light switch thing works.
