I'm looking for someone who is interested in climbing in France, Spain, or Italy during the third week in February. Maybe Verdon, France? I'm living and working in Milan, Italy.

I think you should think of other places than Verdon in winter. And I won't be free at that moment.

I hear Les Calanques in France is good in winter. Russan is also an excellent winter climbing spot.

ciao bellaitalia, Sono francese e parlo un poco italiano! Ma solamente un poco perche ho cominciato in Ottobre 04. I have two weeks holidays to take before the end of may and I was wondering how I could spend them. It will be a bit cold for the Verdon in February. Calanques, Finale Ligure and some other places more in the south will be allright. I think I could take the 3rd week of February without any problem (my boss is very comprehensive). So if you are still interested why not climbing together. We could also meet once in Cresciano if you are keen on bouldering. This isn't far from Milano and only at 4 hours driving from my place. I have already been there a few times. See you, Patrick

If your Italian skills are good consider joining the Italian Alpine Club (CAI). There are likely several sub-groups in Milan. For me this was a great way to make friends and organize climbing trips. Finale Ligure is probably 2-3 hours drive from Milan and can be reasonable weather in the winter. In other words you can do a weekend or day trip down there. Try the Via Fly in Sciarborasca for fun one day - an isolated route of 10 short pitches or so. I think there is a similar route in Cogoleto. These are a little closer than Finale at Arenzano. Dave

Ciao Se hai in mente di andare piu' a Sud posso suggerirti parecchie falesie intorno a Roma, dove sono nato. Sperlonga sport climbing Gaeta, multi-pitch sport-trad Ferentillo in Umbria, Se arrampichi oltre il 7a vai assolutamente a Grotti ( 1 ora da Roma) posto fantastico, ma quasi solo vie above 7a (11d) Fammi sapere. Paolo
