For fuck's sake can't you guys do something to the forum software to make it less susceptible to spam-bots? Right now - 30 JUN 13 13:18MDT - the entire front page list of new posts consists of spam posts.

Probably a lost cause, but if there is anyone out there running this site - please update the forum software to prevent spamming. Enforce a minimum time between registering and posting. Automatically flag first posts (make them hidden until reviewed) when: - they contain multiple links - they contain keywords like "watch online" There are lots of techniques that can be used; preventing spambots from posting isn't something new, yet this neglected forum seems to become a bigger target every day. I flag a handful of spam posts every day, and I'm sure the mods are cleaning up more than I ever even see. Sadly, the bots are some of the only new content daily. It's a bummer that this site has been so neglected. The routes DB is a mess. User feedback is not even responded to in here, if it is even ever read by someone with authority to do anything. Every day there is less reason to even look at this site. Mountain Project has obviously taken over for this site, though it would be nice if this site was alive enough to encourage some competition.

We delete those posts as we see them, or as they get reported (thanks mark and mojomonkey, you guys are the regular reporters!) But the "big guys" who are in charge and who can do all the big changes are absent at the moment...

And we are there again. 3 quick fixes. - Everyone with more than 1000 posts gets to be a mod. - Post of new users need to be released (max 2 posts by a new user) - Shut down the site, its dead anyway

Bummer this site died. 31 spam posts in the "recent posts" link at the moment. At least a few most times I check in. There are some very easy updates to cull most of those before they happen, bummer the site is adrift.

The new owners of this site (whoever they are) have abandoned us. They are the ones who could give mods the power to curb the spambots, but we don't even know how to get in touch with them. I stopped modding in April, out of pure frustration. I resigned in a PM, yet I am still green. I am sorry to see this site go downhill. It sucks.
