Alright. I am bored as hell right now, so I decided to ask a question just to hear peoples out look on these climbers. I know everybody wants to be there own climber, but if someone asked you if you wanted to be Chris Sharma or Dean Potter who would you be.......I only chose these two climber because they are well known.

Thanks

Maybe it's because I'm probably way older than the rest of you and have tested my mortality numerous times, but I'd take Sharma any day.

Chances are he will live longer.

Either Potter or Caldwell. Always take a trad climber...

Chris Sharma- 15a, V15/16, 14a onsite

Dean Potter- Half Dome and El Cap in a day, speed and solo specialist, slack line specialist

Pretty tough call...but I'd rather be Dean Potter. Although somewhat of a troll...interesting topic. It would be a harder decision if you threw in Tommy Caldwell (who I think is just the man as an all around climber).

Hmm...with all due respect I wouldn't define Tommy "the king" Caldwell as * just* a trad climber.
He does it all dude, and really really well!

Potter BTW.

Chances are Sharma has a good chance of living longer. He is also a very centered individual. Caldwell is amazing. An all around climber who has a great wife who is an exceptional partner.

But there's something about Dean. His Zest for adventure.

Bah, slabby, Caldwell is not afraid to lead on gear! That makes him a tradster! It's perfectly fine for someone like Potter or Caldwell to be a well-rounded climber- that's why I would rather be them. Besides, one can argue that their stuff is just as hard as anything Sharma has done.

When will Sharma ever free a big wall? huh huh huh huh :?:

Plus I was amazed at watching Dean Speed Solo up El' Cap on the DVD. His only words said were while he passed by someone on anchor at a traverse......."Don't touch me"

Well I can lead on sport but that doesn't make me a tradster. I guess from things I have read he actually enjoys a good amount of bouldering as well. I'm also very impressed with the fact that his loss of a finger did not effect his climbing at all.

I don't consider quickdraws to be gear. Sorry.

Totally right about Tommy's finger. Still a badass even if he can only count to 9 1/2

I choose Sharma. If I was Potter I'd have to be married to Steph Davis - not a bad looking gal but I like my ladies slightly more subservient and with a blouse full of goodies!

I'll go with Sharma, just cause I'm not really into crack climbing or speed/endurance stuff. Dont get me wrong, the stuff is awesome, but its just not my thing.
