My mate said that my nut tool mod was wicked. I thought i would mention it incase no-one else does it.

You know the thick rubber (mines about 4mm thick) shims that are used to fit bike lights to bicycles? I just got a thick one and ziptied it to the end of my trusty nut tool. Now when something is really stuck i can smash the heel of my hand onto the nice rubber rather than the thin metal. I hardly ever have to use a 'hammer' anymore. And when i do, i just push the rubber around to expose the metal key for bashing. No more pain cleaning hard nuts.... so to speak.

It works really well. Just thought i would mention it.

Happy cragging

Not a bad idea, I just use a big hex normally, but yeah, there are times when you can't swing a no 11 hex.

Got a pic?

Totally unnecessary; if you use overwhelming force to remove a stuck nut, you're missing the best trick in all of following-dom. Just tap the end of the tool sharply but lightly with a loosely held biner. Works instantly everytime.

Good jerry-rig, though. It's always great to see people using their heads to overcome problems. :)

I don't know how to post a pic. Sorry state of affairs I know. I don't even know my mobile phone number.

I have a digi camera though. If anyone can tell me how to do a picture i'll post a pic of my nut and my tool.

1. Take off lens cap, then aim at subject, then press shutter button. Connect camera to computer and press download prompt. Post pic on web somewhere then post using img button up top near bold underline etc bits, put in web address then click img button again.

2. No pics of your nut and tool, you'll get banned!

warrior_prong'

The next step is to submit the photo to this site. Click on "Photos". Then click on "Submit a Photo". Then read the directions on that page. Don't worry about linking the photo as it's not a picture of a route.

Wait a day to get approved by a moderator and then:

Go to "Photos", then "warrior_prong's Photos",
Right-click on the picture and go to properties. Copy and paste the file path into your post. Then, I believe, you highlight the file path and click on the "IMG" button.

Good luck,
-Jason :D

If I'm wrong or there's an easier way, somebody please correct me!

There ya go. I still don't think it's necessary, but it is a damn fine picture. :D
