Anyone here know if Doughton is in? Wondering if the cold temps this week hasn't formed anything climbable out there. I was out this afternoon closer to Boone and nothing was in. Hoping to get out to Doughton Friday, but don't the sunshine doesn't give me much hope. Thanks,

dylan

Top o' the mornin... Drove around Grandfather last night doing some cross country skiing and some of the lines were in thin shape. The small flow near the entrance to the mountain (mile swingin' bridge) and serenity falls were in ok shape, but with the forecasted warmer temps today, they won't last too long. As far as Doughton is concerned I bet the main gully is in? I KNOW Roan is in good shape! Several lines up there.

Hey man,

I checked out Serenity yesterday and it was barely climbable when we got there. Didn't see anything else that was in, kind of suprising. So is there more than ice bouldering on Roan? Are there some longer more route-like lines up there? Thanks,

dylan

I actually checked it out around midnight! It did look climbable, but barely as you say. Yes Roan has several leadable lines up to about 40 feet. Some may boulder them, but some of the lines are too high and steep for most people.

Hmm, really? I've never made it up there to climb, and only hiked around once. Where are they? I don't know if you'd be able to point me in the right direction with me not knowing much abot the area... You know if the tall lines are in too? If they're in, I know of a few people that would like to head up there tomorrow.
