im new to this site, im looking for someone to go climbing this weekend, im free from friday to sunday late- feb11-13. I ice climb as well as rock, im just getting into leadig so i wont lead anything too hard but il follow up wi 4+ or 5.10d's... let me know if anyone is available

I've never been to Chickies. I'm guessing it's mostly bouldering and top rope from what I've heard.
My rack and rope are ready to go whereever/whenever you are (except Saturday). Check your PM, I sent my phone number in case you want to get a hold of me on the weekends or evenings.

I'm gonna be heading out to Wyotech in Blairsville in July and was wondering if anyone knew where the closest climbing gym to that area is. I've found a few over in Pittsburg, but their all over 3 hours round trip and I've only got 5 hours of free time each day after classes.... Was kinda looking for something a bit closer.

Anyone wanna get out climbing? I live in Wyalusing so I'm looking anywhere in the area from Blossburg to Scranton, or pretty much anywhere I can go. Willing to climb about anything: sport, TR, bouldering, gym and Trad if your willing to teach.

I lived in that area for 22 years. Pittsburgh is going to be the closest climbing gym to you.
However there is so much rock around you that you don't need a gym. If you don't have a partner, grab a crashpad and go. Dilltown/Strongstown area has a lot of local bouldering (no info online however). Plus you aren't far from Ligonier which has some climbing.
Also keep an eye on Derry High Rocks in the RDB. That place is awesome and should be open soon (if not already). Once it is open for access, definitely a spot for you to hit during your 5 hr free time.

Unfortunately we are moving this weekend. Just down the road, but still ruins an entire Saturday (which is supposed to be nice).
Last time I took a week off to climb, I was able to get out one day out of 7. Hope you have better luck than that.

:( I got the weekend wrong and made plans to go to the New. I hafta go down cuz I gotta discuss with my partner what we're doing for our trip out to City of Rocks. But, if it rains, we're going to try and do it in April, so I'll be at the comp. I guess we'll see.
Is it just me, or did the price of the comp go up a bunch from last year? Or am I not remembering correctly?

Naw Kimmy it was the same entry fee, to get just the GS pass its $15 for the yr. The comp is $45 includes yr pass, guide book and T-shirt.
Well thats a bummer, Im sure you and Brenda, thast who you are going with right?; will have a great time, tell her I said hi. Chat to ya later Kimmy and hope to see ya soon.

i know, i'm upset. Sigh.
apologize to her for me and we'll have to hook up later. nate's not going, but you should shoot him a PM and see if he plans on being at the comp. He wanted to do it last time, I know that much.
Does anyone know if I can pay entry to the comp the day of the competition, in case plans should change right beforehand?

We paid the day of last year, and so did a lot of other people. You don't get a shirt if you pay the day of. But you still get a pass to GS (printed onsite and lamenated for you).
I'll definitely send a pm to nate and let him know that he can hang with us if he wants to.
Hopefully once the weather gets a little nicer we can hook up at Birdsboro or something.

Brand new to the board so stick with me here. I'm in the N.E Pa area. Just getting back into climbing, figured I'd say hello.
I saw some pics, and I thought I knew the areas. Turns out I do. Moc, and Tilbury Knob. Paradise, the Library, Table rock. Just went to the Wilkes Barre indoor gym for the first time 2 weeks ago. Pretty sweet and close.
