I need your input to compile accurate rating consensus for the new Santa Monica Mountains guidebook. Your input on difficulty and quality (5-star scale) would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, the Magic Mountains. Unfortunately, during the three years I lived just off Kanan Road, I wasn't climbing. I was driving my sports car like a lunatic on full moon nights. "Stunt Road" wasn't named that on a whim. Encinal Canyon road, often used by steet luge skateboarders, was pretty good with the stick in neutral and a very reluctant braking foot. That sharp U-turn curve (going downhill) about one mile from PCH was pretty hairball at speed. So, my post is worthless, but I have a very fond spot in my memory of the Santa Monica Mountains.

i concur (with jt512)... but i'd give death by chocolate at least 2 stars, it's a fun line at its grade.
