when do you clip-in the rope while leading a route?
after o before you pass the quickdraw?
a lot of people clip in when are near to quickdraw, others prefer when pass the quickdraw...
how do you do?

the best way is to clip when you dont need to pull a lot of rope so if you mess it up you dont fall additional 5ft. so the ideal spot would be around the waist.
but i clip when i get to the best hold that i can clip from.

I try to do it around waist level, but it depends on how desperate my situation is.

yeah best hold sometimes that is above the draw. just whatever you are comfortable with
