Not really, I read the article and this is not likely to happen on public lands. Hopefully they will pick some unattractive choss pile to do it on. Also, they would have to own the crag. I dont see the Mohonk preserve allowing something like this on their property. Wait, maybe the Mountain House will put one in at Skytop for their guests.....not.

Can't speak for everyone, but I'm not worried. Why would anyone put a via ferrata up on an easy route that any joker can climb free? The real place for ladders and fixed cables is clearly on the featureless walls that almost nobody climbs. That would open them up for more people to enjoy these natural scenic resources.

Funny, I've always pictured myself in better physical condition. Looking at the current demographic of obesity in america, I would shudder to think what their definition of "normal" might be.
