Real Quick. What is your favorite mountain(s) to climb/trundle on the mainland of North America? If you're feeling particular, how about the route and what you like about it so much too. I'll start it off: Teewinot, East Face (tetons) - summitt in 2 hours from car and TREMENDOUS views of the Grand without the crowds (until now) Mt. Adams, King Ravine (White Mtns.) - a jewel of a scramble to New Hampshire's finest peak gets even better on steep snow and ice in the winter. No trains either! Windy Peak (NV) - The sunny south face of this Red Rocks classic is a winter favorite of mine, a stellar line (Jubilant Song) goes up at 5.8 David Lucander

The Great Range in the Adirondaks is a set o' mountains I'm connected with - Camel's Hump - sledding off the summit in mid-winter after a powder dump doesn't get any better Lafayette in the White's for nearly killing me and teaching me the importance of crampons and ice axes and finally Denali - for the spell it cast on me and my brother - it remained hidden from view until we literally set foot on the summit of Sable Mt. and there it was in all its glory dominating the skyline - we both were shocked - the view was overpowering - the weather beautiful, skies clear - a life long memory I'll never forget......

Granite Peak, Montana - well for that matter anything in the Beartooths. And almost anything in BC - good bushwack = no people and beautiful granite.

So far, Snake Mtn, NC. It's not big, long, or hard, and there aren't any routes, but it's damn fun. Especially when it's snowing, the rocks are covered in ice, and the wind is kicking. I've had as much fun climbing it as I have any 'real' mountain in the states.

Some of these places are already too crowded, but they sure are cool: Washington: Mt. Stuart. North Ridge. A 50 crowded climb. And a good one. Montana: Trapper Peak. North Face. A true wilderness experience. Anything but crowded. Wyoming: Mount Helen & Sacajawea. West Faces. More wilderness stuff. Colorado: Crestone Needle. Ellingwood route. A 50 crowded climb. Cool conglomerate rock.

Seven Gables, in the high sierra of California. Its an awesome semi-remote double-summitted peak between Bishop and Yosemite. The climb is mostly just talus hopping, but its hard to beat the view from this one.

Longs Peak is my favorite mountain for the variety of routes it has that I can actually do. My 2nd favorite is Mount Sopris, it was the first mountain that ever cast a spell on me when I drove up 82 for the first time.

^ That's a pretty good one. I'm more of the Alps type of climber, though.
