I broke my aid cherry last night on The Green Adjective in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Salt Lake. I gotta say, it was everything I expected, nothing like what I expected, the most fun climbing I've done in a long time, and the most miserable climbing I've ever done, all wrapped up into one.
If nothing else, I came away with some newfound respect for all you wacked-out pin beaters out there. It was about 10 times harder and scarier than I had ever imagined.
And it only took 3.75 hours, three falls (one aid and two freeing the last 20ft. or so), and nearly a full battery life on my headlamp (we started up at about 9:30pm) for one ~80 foot pitch.
I'm still trying to decide if I'm 'hooked' or not. I know I want to do it again ... soon.

Please tell me that you used clean aid on the Green A. If so, congratulations, I once set out to free the route, only to end up partially aiding it with nuts and knotted slings.
