This summer I WILL climb the Squamish Chief. It will be by an aid route and not something that can be freed. Now I've said it and have to do it. I will be using all that stuff Pete has wrote on this site to find my way to the top. I'm only fifteen so I will be starting my wall career young.

Nothing bad about starting young, an alpine start on life.
Actually I was at Tim Hortons with PTPP this morning and he was all chipper about his trip. You too could be waxing poetic soon if you succeed.
Good luck.

When you finish up there, hit the Taco Bell/KFC across the highway from it (a km or so closer to Whistler)...I got screwed out of my first Taco Bell taco there because of their 11am opening. Got there at 10:55 with a huge storm rolling in.

Avenge me!

Continue two streets up in the main squeamish entrence and on the left, there is a diner (I forgot the name of it) but after couple of days on the rock, …it’s the bomb
The motels over there are rather cheap and camping in Alice Lake is cool …oaahh… Squeamish chief… Tantalus… Alfa… Garibaldi… Sky pilot… I can weep all day… enjoy

It's called the Mountain Burger House, and it is open early enough to get the "BIG BREAKFAST" before an attempt on the Big Chief!

Good Luck Jake, I'm pullin' for you!!!

Do you know the name of the rought your taking up it.
possibly next summer my dad and I are looking to trad it. I say possibly because we don't even do trad yet, we have all the gear and everything, but we are yet to use it, so until then we're just a bunch of top roped gear junkies. I really hate that feeling of wait the first climb.

any hoot, Good luck, you got balls man, i'm fifteen as well. Who you going with?

If you're looking to climb in Squamish and are thinking about hiring a guide look to Squamish Rock Guides - I hired them when I was up there and they were fantastic in helping me...
