I'm going to Rome this summer, and was hoping to buy some climbing gear while there.
The problem is that I have been unable to find any climbing shops in Rome.
I'm especially interested in shops that sell La Sportiva climbing shoes, but I'm also interested in picking up a new rope and som cams if they are cheap.

Does anybody have one or two shops you could recommend?
What is the price level on gear in Italy? I was hoping that La Sportiva ( since it is an italian brand) is cheaper there than elsewhere.
Does anybody know the price on the Miura or the Katana shoe there?

Thanks!

if youre driving to rome with a car try visiting the la sportiva factory store. its in ziano di fiemme, NE italy, on the foothills of the trient dolomites.

they have ridiculously low prices. my friend got some cobras for less than 40e.

otherwise the prices in italy are not really lower than the rest of the europe. papi sport near trieste for example is just slightly cheper than other stores. but if youre lucky youll get to a store that will have some discounts.

In Italy the climbing Equipment is really cheap. I don't know anything about Rome, but if you have the opportunity to go to Arco (Garda lake) you'll find 3 shops with lots of stuff in and even an LaSportiva outlet (better price than the factory!)
ciao ciao

I don't think I'll be heading for the northern parts of italy, since I'm there only for a few days.

Even though Italy is not one of the cheapest contries in Europe, it is probably a lot cheaper than here in Norway since we are a non-EU country..

Thanks for the info!
