Anyone going bouldering around Alabama that would not mind a noobie tagging along? I have only done indoor climbing but would like to get into bouldering. I have never done it yet.

I would travel to Atlanta or even up towards Nashville on the weekends if anyone wants to go.

I would also like to go sport climbing.

You posted the same question twice, in different forums, within 30 minutes of each other. Both are on the front page. Give people some time to reply.

Sorry, I found this thread "US-South" and thought I should put it here instead. Again sorry about putting it twice.

I am also a relative newbie (1 1/2 years) in the B'ham area. I alternate weekends hiking and rock climbing locally. Most of my climbing time is spent bouldering at Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover. I plan to get out more this Summer and do some higher stuff up at the Palisades and Sandrock. I am in the process of adding to my gear list for these climbs. My younger brother, in Auburn currently, will be climbing with me this Summer a little as well. He has extensive rope experience as far as belays, etc.

I'd be happy to meet up at Moss Rock one Saturday. Let me know.

Get your ass to Horsepens 40. I'm sure that will satisfy your desire to boulder outdoors. Besides, it's practically in your backyard.
