yes, i know people have asked questions like this before, but the search function is crapping the bed.

i'm planning on spending a week with my dad climbing moderates (.6-.9) this july. i'm looking for someplace with lots of options in that range (multipitch welcome) that will not be scorching while we're there. prefer trad, though could be convinced to clip bolts.

any suggestions other than tuolumne, which sounds like it will be obscenely crowded? it doesn't have to be in california, though i'd rather stay west-ish.

I spent about two weeks climbing in the Front Range in CO 2 summers ago. I liked it so much that I'll be moving to Denver in a few months.

You should check out some alpine rock in the Sierra. There are plenty of great long moderates to choose from and there are rarely crowds. Or you could check out Lover's Leap.

try the wind rivers. Cirque of the towers is remote and beautiful. I've heard that vodweda (spelling??) is good too. Just look it up in the Whyoming section

I concur. With a little homework you can avoid a lot of the traffic in the area. I digress, though, avoiding the crowds usually entails a pretty long approach.

Check out the "Colorado Mountains" thread. Lots of good tips in there as well.
