I got into this arguement with a friend, he said that climbiong was about sending the hardest crag possible and I said it is about sending the classic problems no matter the grade. The argument was never ended but i was wondering what everbody else felt. So Sending hard crags or classic problems.

In whole many routes aren't classic, Classics are defined in their quality, consistancy, and flow. When a route has the charactoristics of a classic at any grade then will it be classic. Essentially any route anywhere at any grade can be a classic from Penetente's "Bullet the Blue Sky"/ Bucksnort Slab's classic Dihedral to Fred's "Bain de Sang" , there for a classic is classic at any grade. Later.

It depends on the day for me. Sometimes I try to push myself and do the hardest routes, othertimes I look in the guidebook at start at 5.6 and look for any 4 star routes and start checking them all off. -Travis

I prefer to climb classic routes, but to a certain extent, I want to climb the HARD classics. More over, I want to put up the hard classics. I'll do it, just you wait.

I agree with sending the calssic climbs because they are more fun. A hard problem can be really hard but not much fun. And climbing is all about having fun isn't it?
