Alright folks, time for the annual pilgrimage to Mecca....this time, I'm bagging a couple weeks worth since it may be my last trip for a few years.

It looks like things are all set through memorial day weekend, but after that, i've got 5 days to kill with no one in sight.

I'll post a note on the Camp 4 bulletin board- come find me and we'll climb. I'm game for most things in the .9-.10a range, and if i'm feeling good, maybe a little tougher if its crack climbing....

Us Canucks will be down there 5/20 to 5/29. We are three right now, if you have any interest in rounding it out for the duration or just a couple of days, I'm sure we can work plans out.

Interested in Snake Dike, RA, a day or two at the cookie and depending if the weather ever dries out up here long enough to get some time in outdoors and get strong on more than plastic, maybe Rostrum and/or Astroman. I hear there is good stuff at MC, but lent out my book so can't really check it out. Don't really have any aspirations for aid.

We don't have camping hooked up yet, do you know how hard it is likely to be to get a site in C4? I'm suspecting more granite hard than sandstone hard.

Paul

PS Easy if you see this chime in.

Snake Dike may be fun- if i do RA again, I'm goin up to Crest Jewel (already done RA twice).

I'd also be down for a day at the Cookie as well.

Camp 4 should be interesting. The earlier you get there the better. I'll crash outside the park Thurs night and then race in early in the morning to try and nab a campsite...

Hey;

Is CJ the 10 or whatever pitches above RA? I heard that was a good climb, but kinda figured we'd top out on RA and then see what the time was for CJ.

Yeah, C4 will be nuts I'm sure. Hey if you do get a site, would you mind hooking us up too? If you aren't comfy with that I'm sure we can sort something out, but if you do then we would likely drive from SFO (we arrive at 9 something PM Fri night) to get there that night and climb Sat.

C4 sites are first come, first served. everyone in the group has to be there to sign up for a site, otherwise i'd help you out.

my plan with the RA/CJ link-up was to more or less solo RA and be at the base of CJ by 10am or earlier...so, if you guys arent ready for that, have a blast on RA- it's a great route to spend the day on.

Sort of bumping, sort of updating:

Looks like i may be set for Serenity/Sons, still looking for a RA/CJ partner, though.

I also may have a partner for my crag routes, but the more the merrier on that stuff, I always say.

Alright, pm me if interested!

Try the Regular Route on Half Dome. If you cruised Epi like it sounds like you did (man, you are definately improving since last year in RR) you will absolutely love HD. The aids is short, easy, fast, and the cracks on that route for the free climbing are absolutely beautiful!!! A fun route indeed and one that you can go pretty fast on.

It will probably be the first "wall"/Grade IV I will ever repeat just because the cracks are so nice.

TRADitionally yours,

Cali Dirtbag

Below is my tick list- climbs I absolutely must get done and am looking for a partner on. If you're interested, please let me know. Weekdays are good as my bay area friends will be in town on the weekends....

#1: Serenity/Sons
#2: Royal Arches/Crest Jewel (Direct is something i can follow, but may not be able to lead...)
#3: Crag Routes: Sacherer Cracker, Generator Crack, Bishop's Terrace, Twilight Zone, and possibly Reeds, and maybe Outer Limits if we go to Cookie for TZ....

That's it for now- I'm also pondering Snake Dike, something on Middle Cathedral, and possibly a wall (WC or LT)....if you're gung ho on something, let me know, I'll have plenty of time.

Alright, let me know, I'm beginning tentative plans now. I should be in Camp 4 for the duration.

Ha you listed about 1/2 the routes on my tick list for the end of may out there!! cool!! have fun. I can't wait to do serenity into sons! I'm also hittin east buttress of el cap and middle cathedral! hope you get your list ticked!

we'll see you there.

i dunno mac, i think the snickering and giggling might distract me from managing to get another inch of elevation on that one!

anyway, you going to be in the valley around that time? maybe RA/CJ for us? i'm still looking for someone crazy enough to climb it with me.
