Hey all. Fiend has had me managing Ontario for a little while now. And now Ontario is getting more solid representation on this site. I wouldn't mind organizing an event so we all can get together and have some fun. Anybody got any suggestions or tentative dates or places. I know we can't all get together (Ontario is a big place) so lets try this down south to start. Here are a few and I'll see what I can do. - gym climbing - crag climbing - bar - bowling - pool (tables or swimming) Let me know what you think. Also, while I'm here you've all done great jobs contributing to this site keep it up. Kudos go to krillen, metoliusmunchkin, crazylikeafawkes and c_plante for all their recent additions. Thanks all! As I don't have a car, and large portion of us already climb at Gravity... Gravity gym then the Snooty Fox? I'll be home Sunday (July 14th) so anytime after that

Yeah if we do something outside of Hamilton we can arrange a car pool. But, I don't have a problem with Hamilton.

I'd be up for a get-to-know-climbers in this area meeting. You all seem to know one another and I'm new to the site. I'm living in Guelph for the next few years for school, but I'm leaving on a road trip in two weeks. Maybe there can be a get-together before then?

Quote: and large portion of us already climb at Gravity... I think that's a little presumptuous and not necessarily true, but I'm up for the idea of a GT. I'd like to meet a coupla more "locals", but being in Milton *everything* is at least a half-hour drive away . Unfortunately, my weekends are spoken for until at least mid/late-September (the downside of basing the bulk of my current income as a craftsman; got shows to do). A GT in Hamilton on a Tuesday night after a go at Gravity or a GT in T.O. on a Wednesday night after a go at R.O. would be great. Adam

Yeah, I know, there's probably more Tdot climbers than in the Hammer, but the Toronto gyms are ... umm .. busy... and expensive.. and ummm.... blah, I just didn't want to have to drive anywhere

Mark returns 13th(?), Kathryn leaves 21st(?), Spike can't do weekends, I have little interest in gyms. Now here goes a balancing act. How about Tuesday 16th we head to a crag to climb for the afternoon/evening after folks finish work/whatever till late evening. Afterwards we head to a nearby bar for a quick dose of wings and beer. I would suggest Nemo for sport or trad climbers alike and anyone with less experience/not a lead climber can follow others. I can make it to nemo or another Milton crag for about 3pm. How does that suit folks???

Hey fiend, now that I live in the Hammer we can carpool to whatever event gets invented by downshaft, I mean downshift... I have more than enough room in my wee beastie. For me thursdays and saturdays are my day off, any other night and I have to beg/borrow/steal to get them off of work. Speaking of which, anyone want to hire an I.T. Guy? Or just hire me away from this stinkin' night job? Christian

I'd be up for a trip to Nemo! I usually get off work at 5 which wouldn't put me on the rock 'till 6 but perhaps I could just sneak away a little early..... Anyone else have ideas as to a possible date or are we looking at next Tues. as "set in stone"? Meshuga3 would also be willing to climb on real stone any day except Thurs. and Fri. this week and next.

As much as I'd love to come out next Tuesday I have to be realistic: that's the week before my opening weekend at the renaissance festival and I'm going to be psychotically busy. But if everyone is hitting a pub afterwards there's several reasonable ones in nearby Milton and I could sneak off for a pint or two and meet a few of you . The Dickens is pretty good, and if there's ten or so of us I think we could reserve the room upstairs for our exclusive use.

Ok I think Darkside has an execlent plan there... So how about we nail down a few options Crag: Nemo Rattlesnake Other Date: July 16 July 17 July 18 Bar: The Dickens Kelsey's Other I figure people can climb from 3 - 8:30 (I can probably make it around 5) Then we head for the bar for 9pm. Everyone vote and let me know and we can get a solid plan by the end of the week. Later

On the iffy chance I can get away, my vote's for the 16th, Rattlesnake, Dickens. Second choice would be the 17th (where's there a Kelsey's nearby?). Still game for a pint... Adam [ This Message was edited by: spike_in_milton on 2002-07-10 16:00 ]

my vote: any crag (i wont be able to make it in time to climb) any day (let me know, i'll adjust my "schedule" accordingly) any pub (closer to TO = better) if anyone's schedule meets mine, we can carpool. i have a car, no pool.

My vote: Crag- Nemo Date- 16th Pub- any I'm pretty flexible though so if any of the other choices are more popular, I will still be up for it. FYI Kelseys is very close to the 401 & 25. Glad to see a couple of you willing to make it for the pub, if not the climbing

I'm available for all. If there is a Hamilton meeting place, we could hit my parents' pool up in Ancaster afterwards. It's just at the top of the 403 barely five minutes' drive from Gravity. P.S. Note to Hotties: Bring sexy bathing attire

Hey, I'm the one heading west with EcoCliffChick- Kathryn to everyone else- in two weeks, and I'd be up for... Nemo... maybe? I'm working at the Grotto Thursday-Friday this week and next, but if it's next Teusday, that'd be great.

A get together would be sweet. So what is the verdict on when and where everyone is meeting. I will be coming up for Chatham to climb for several days, possibly heading to the Glen for one of them. Kathryn, I might be able to bring the boys for Windsor as well! Grant, We will have to hook up for an epic free climb! hahah -Aaron

Hey lemurboy, drag those guys from Windsor with you if you can! It's been too long since I've been climbing with them - but they're probably all way strong now and too good for me.....
