I also would like to know the answer as I have attempted this numerous times. Also I would love to find out how to put in those sweet smiley faces. Not the generic ones but the ones that hardly anyone ever sees, such as the one that is typing at a computer or the one machine gunning. Please tell us computer illiterate fools how!

What you need to get is some webspace hosted by someone other than Geocities, Angelfire, Tripod, and most of the well-known ones like that. I use l33t.ca, but would not reccomend it because it's not a very stable server. If you go to http://freewebspace.net, you can find some decent ones, but a lot of them are crap too. I haven't had much luck with them. Anyways, just look around, do google searches for "free webspace" and whatnot. If you've got the money to spare you can get a better host fairly cheap, if you just need it for your photos. [ This Message was edited by: juliana on 2002-07-07 13:07 ]

Angelfire and many other free hosting sites don't allow linking to images, you just get the Angelfire logo.

Many sites that offer free hosting often do now allow linking to pictures, videos, etc. due to the large amount of bandwidth these things draw. However, you can upload something from your hard drive to say, rockclimbing.com here, and then use either BBcode, or HTML to link it. For BBcode, simply write: . But, with NO SPACES between the brackets for the img tags...i simply had to add them to this post so you could read my exact code. For html, simply write: Code: where the words url are the location of the photo on the web. Note the address must be enclosed in quotation marks. You will NEVER upload a picture to a page. You simply display it by linking it. So, I'm not sure I understand your question. What's the address of the picture you want to show?

No, the picture is on my hard drive. I'm asking, how do I get one of these pictures onto a webpage so I can put it into a post?

If it's climbing related you can upload it here to rc.com. Otherwise, upload it to the webspace you have, and then when it's up you link to the url. First things first....just upload it to your website.

In most cases of a free web hosting site there is some sort of program to upload the photos. Send me a Private Message and I'll try to help you there. ~Matt

Hey Push, thanks for that tip. I was wondering the same thing myself, having seen one poster link up a slew of pix. Immediately, I was jealous. I think I will try it...soon...
