My wife I call "Boss". She calls me "Homer".

On a recent backpacking trip my climbing bros and one sister decided that we had so much cool looking gear that we might as well have mountaineers names so I became "Clemmins the holy geck Vowell" and another guy became Hans Pozzi, and the chics name was Greta *idon't know her last name* but Pozzi will work. the names stuck and now we all go by them when gearing up or actually climbing.

One of my best friends and climbing partners has two nicknames. Behind the wheel of a carhe know as U-TURN because he makes a minimum of two u-turns whenever he drives. The other is the KING OF ROCK since he can climb off-width with little pro and by sheer determination, gets to the top and take you there even if you change your mind because the route is so difficult and hairy.

All though I have not named my gear. I do get called two things. The first is 'crazy pscyho' But most people call me 'citrus' for my obsession with the color orange! Just about all of my gear is that color!!

My vans been deemed the "SHAGIN WAGIN"
but not for what you would think. Its a 1977 ford, dart green but the inside is covered with 2inch long green shag carpet.
its quite the auto for road trips.

I really don't have a nickname from climbing. I have many though one that might be able to be applied to my climbing is one that my friends gave me. Super little girl. I kinda had one from my climbing club from high school and it was sarah. My instructor kept mixing my friend sarah and I up all the time that he called me sarah for the whole year I think. My one friend that I have gone climbing with through the club I have a nickname for him that he doesn't know but it doesn't really apply to climbing unless you want it to count to how he climbs

I don't really have any nicknames for my gear or my friends, but my best friend calls me Popps. This is kinda strange because I'm only 23 and I'm only 6 months older than him.

not a nickname, but my first climbing partner had the greatest name ever, Zaza Aziz.
we learned how to climb together and he is the greatest. really strong and determined. Once we got pulled over coming back form a trip down south, the cop asked him what his name was, he said it, and the cops said "what's your Christian name son?"
and he said
"i don't know, i'm not a christian"
it was the politest "eat sh*t piggoo" i ever heard.
If anyone knows this climber, tell him kc says hi.

Funny you mentioned that; my buddy has a van almost exactly the same. An old, dark-colored van with dark-tinted windows.
We named it "Abby", short for it's full name "The Abductor". The name struck us after being pulled over for the third time in two days for being a "suspicious vehicle". Apparently, parents had kept calling the police that this suspicious van kept driving by the school - my buddy had to pass it each day to go to work .
I call my partner "Knucklehead" most of the time, and everybody else is "Joe".
My nicknames range from "Mouse" and "Mike-Mike" (military acronym for Mighty Mouse) to "Peanut".

Let's see, I'm "Bulldog", I was told because of my upper body strenth? My belay bud is "Reach" because he can, and another climber friend is "Monkey" cause he can climb almost anything as fast as a monkey. I may have called my 4Runner "My Baby"

Most of my equipment I call "you pieces of crap." I usually tell it not to break you piece of crap. I did that the other day right before my first rappel. My only nickname for me when I climb is "Big Wimp." If I don't flow up a wall I got people yelling at me to make it up this easy route! Good encouragement!

My climbing buddies answer to 'DJ' [initials], 'The Almighty Buddha' [portly], 'God-like Wes' [his knowledge of all things climbing], 'Candycorn' [clothing: white hat, orange pullover, black shoes], and 'The Dancing Fools' [they get a little TOO wild on the dance floor], respectively. I answer to 'Dr. Jackson' due to my resemblance, both in character and in looks, to Stargate's own. My cherokee is the White Lightning ...
