Hello Climbers, In the interest of continued climbing access in Gatineau Park and protection of the environment that we enjoy, it is necessary for us to consider which climbing areas on the Eardley Escarpment we want to put our weight behind keeping open. The NCC has indicated its willingness to let the climbing community, represented by the Gatineau Park Climbers’ Coalition, lay out the rules for continued climbing. The NCC’s measures, if we do not take steps to protect the environment ourselves, will be to ban climbing along the Eardley Escarpment. So this is our chance to manage ourselves. The Gatineau Park Climber's Coalition is conducting a survey of climbers in the region to determine which areas are most important to them. What we’re asking of you is to visit our website at: http://go.gatineau-access.org and complete the survey found there in the "News" section. Based on your submissions the Climbers’ Coalition will defend access to areas of importance to the climbing community. Respond by May 22nd to have your voice heard, and please forward this message to other climbers. Once again, the URL is http://go.gatineau-access.org, click on "News", then click on "Climbing site survey" Thanks for your help, Toivo Koivukoski and Michael Burke Working Group Members, Gatineau Park Climbers’ Coalition
