I got this PM from Mrs Kady. Did this happen to anyone else?

From Mrs Kady
Dear friend.
contact me in this my e_mail address:
kkojo_2005@yahoo.co.in

Permit me to introduce you into this project of transfering the sum of( $22 million) twenty two million dollars ,i am a mother of two children by my name mrs Kady kojo the only wife of late senator Mathieu Kojo who died in the prison last month in our country Togo, regarding the political problem over there.

This is however, to inform you that before my husband died he
introduced me to one security company in Lome Togo where he deposited a consignment and he directed me where to get the document also made me to knew that the content of the box is the US$22 million then according to him the fund belonged to his party so because of the fund he was jailed and died in the prison by his party members.

Now due to the same political crisis in Togo after the presidential election then Mr Paul Eyadema decleared a winner since then the country remain in fire and by date all the foreign investors already left the cities back to there countries.

I tried to trace the company where my late husband said he deposited the consignment but found the company closed then i got information that they has an affilate office in Abidjan Cote d'ivoire ,so since two weeks now i and my sons were here in Abidjan because of the consignment,

i said to call on you to see if you should assist us to retrieve the consignment out from the company and then lodge the fund into your account i will be pleased to send one of my son to you Mike he is 22 years old while Tony 18 this year .

Please note that you are standing as the foregn business partner to my late husband in other to retrieve the consignment out from the company here to your destination, your benefit regarding the transaction will be discuss in my second message to you i will be happy to receive your respond as i shall further you in details.

Best regards.
Mrs Kady Kojo.

Yeah, it sure did. Twice. The admins know about it, though, and are taking steps to make sure it never happens again. So far the elusive Mrs. Kady has proven herself a wily foe. But we'll get her. Oh, yes, indeedy we will.

When it comes to modding the site, I think the one thing we all agree on is that spam must be killed on sight.

If you ever get another one, definitely hit the harassment button and report it. That'll ensure that we can at least silence that account for all time.

Do you think we need dingus` permission first though.

Yep, all spammers should suffer an untimely horrible death by watching Brady Bunch episodes over and over and over.

Phil! No! We can't! Even for spammers, that is truly a fate worse than hottest, stinkiest pit of Hell!

Ahhh yes but cruel and unusual punishment does not apply to spammers so Brady Bunch it is.

What's worse than a spammer is a scammer out to cheat folks out of their life savings. I'd like to see Ms. Kady roasted over a flaming pit. (just for awhile)

If I had the money, I fund a non-profit that did nothing that reply to scam emails like that, waste their time, try to scam them back, and set them up for arrest and prosecution.

Law enforcement doesn't have the time or resources to go after folks like that, which is particularly difficult when some of these crimes happen over international borders.

I'd like to get that Ed McMahon too, he sent me a letter promising a multi-million dollar prize and I took my girlfriend out to an expensive dinner to celebrate in advance!

Well, not really. My poor girlfriend.

Peace

karl

I rest my case.

I do however agree with Karls sentiment too. Scammers are worse than spammers.

419 scams .... there are a million of them.

another great site is 419Eater.com

These guys bait the 419 scammers as far as they can and then when possible send the info to the feds. Some of them string it out a long time.
Good reads.

Here's what gets me about these scams:

"Indications are that Advance Fee Fraud grosses hundreds of millions of dollars annually and the losses are continuing to escalate. In all likelihood, there are victims who do not report their losses to authorities due to either fear or embarrassment."

I can't beleive that anyone who can read would EVER fall for these types of scams.

Good news on the scam PM front is that Tim is rejigging the filters to take out these sorts of PMs before they ever come through to the users. Three cheers for Tim for being one clever and sneaky as hell guy.
