I'll be in Yosemite from 6/18 until I'm done with Zodiac. Yeah, same old, same old with one more year of experience and mental toughness under my belt. I will stand on top of El Cap this time, though. As usual, I'd like to run into as many of you as possible. Meet some new faces and see some old familiar ones again. Werner, I'm hunting you down, bro. Unlike years past, my wife is tagging along with me this time. She'll be off on her own adventures, but she'd love to hang out with some of you during the down time. I'll be on the rock most of the time I'm there and she'll be cussing at me over the 2-way in the Meadow. Look for the Epic Mobile and stop by to say hi if you get a chance. We might be in Camp 4 -- might not. Hope to see you there! Ed

epic_ed moved this thread from Aid Climbing to Trip Reports. Jeez, I can't even resist moving my own thread. I'm sure will evolve into a trip report at some point, so I'll go ahead and move it here pre-emptively.

Go Ed! If you want Kole's new phone number or email address, PM me. He lives in Fremont now and gets out to Yosemite/Tuolomne about every weekend now, I'm sure you guys could have some cragging fun if/when you're not on the wall. I'm jealous of your Valley forway, but don't cry for me, I'm going to da Front Range around the same time. Maybe I can make Amber sport climb this year :P

Nice, hope I can come down and cheer..or mabye cheer from a bit further over to your left. Hit that first pitch and charge it bro, don't look back until you are so high that going down is scarier then going up!

Ed , just make sure u have your adjustable Russian dyno aiders when u go for it. Have u changed the spring loaded gyro's in those things since last year? I really wanted to hang out with u this year in the Valley , but I did a really good job of tearing my Hamstring playing B-ball in Chicago 2 weeks ago ,might be a month or so before I can climb. Good luck on the Zod. Be carefull where u leave your food at the base, u know how those animalls are , (Nick ,Walt ,Dave).

What's up, Jeffe...just logging on to the www for the first time in over a week. Sorry to disappoint again this years, but no summit for me. More details later, but in a nut shell, I don't move fast enough to do the climb solo in the time frame I had and a partnership forged mid-week fell apart just in time to keep me from having a chance to actually pull it off. Next year -- a partner. Jeff, I'll call you tonight. The Epic Mobile hosed me about 45 miles outside of Blythe on the way home last night. It's been a long journey home. Ed

Ed, such determination is the stuff of legend. Keep going, man. I know you'll make it... eventually.

uh well .. sorry your bailed ed, i know you wanted to do it pretty bad. .. bottom line though, it sounds like you're not cut out to be a soloist. -- the partner idea sounds good .. lemme know when you're climbing, i'd climb with you.
