In reply to: how do you guys feel about chalk bags? what do you want to see? what dont you want/need. new features, basic, colors, patterns, fabric, size, comfort...anything. give me a chalk bag that: - hangs even (2 loops spaced apart like prAna's or 1 wide loop like BlueWater) - my hand fits into (not a fan of fingerbags) - cinches closed from the side - has a stash pocket (for ID + car keys or headlamp, etc. Verve has them) - has a loop large enough to fit a modern day toothbrush (the handles aren't so uniform & skinny these days)

as far as the the brush holder, do you want a little flap or a little brush pocket...? maybe something that an pull shut like the top so big and little brushes will fit... just throwing out ideas... would anyone be interested in a bag that carried all your gear, chalk (not the actual chalk but had a compartment for your chalk bag), your brushes and CAMERA? the camera is a big thing, if you didnt want it, i need to know cause that will be expensive. it will be reinforced, lockable and super padded...also, the bag would hold two nalgene bottles as well as have a wet compartment... thanks

I think a camera bag appropriate for long multipitch route would be nice. I don't think I'd need a compartment for chalk, and it would be better to have gear loops on the outside, not space for gear on the inside. And better to have a waterproof pouch for a bladder than pockets for nalgenes. And be compressible such that I could stick it inside my big gear bag on the hike out to the climb. Hmm, this designing gear is a lot more fun than I expected. :-)

I think the whole orange fake tan thing will be coming into vogue very soon. At least I hope so, anyway. Nothing quite like looking pissed off, orange, and gay. If he were shorter with green hair he'd look like a gay Oompa Loompa.

How about a more "retro" chalk bag design...something long soft and narrow like the old biblers. Modren chalkbags are so chunky and snaggy in wide cracks. I like the idea of a multi pitch camera bag. Conside makeing it chest mounted ( like the galen rowell ones) so that the camera can be used/stored while still firmly atached to your person. Pants: Something with a double front (fer knee bars and chimneys) like carharts and maybe even a double butt (fer sitin in the dirt b'lay'n) but with the main part of the pants made out of a softer more flexible material then the double parts. I tend to wear out the crotches of pants first. I find a fabric with some strech to it helps a ton, low rise is nice so the crotch doesn't hang too low and get jerked around. You say mom and pop shops rock, if you can flat out detail the labor practices your cloth and gear are made under I will be f'n thrilled.

I'd like to see some new camouflage, but not the military kind. If you could come out with some that's a little bit more like, say, the Predator, then I'd be willing to pay big bucks for some new clothes.

What about us buff girls??? A lot of my friends and myself have been athletes all our lives and have mesomorph bodies with broad backs and strong thighs. (think Lisa Rands body-type) Currently I seem to be stuck wearing tops which fit my back and shoulders but are too loose in the mid-section or too long in the arms. Pants have the same problem, if they fit through the thighs and bottom, they are usually too big in the waist. In any case, I would love to be able to find fitted tops that actually fit throughout and pants that don't bag too much in the waist. Being buff is tuff.
