My partner and I are thinking of going to Mt. Whitney within the next couple of weeks and doing the East buttress and East face. Does anybody have any beta on the weather, particularly the snow, in the area? Any info woudl be appreciated.

I had some buddies that climbed North Palisade over Memorial Day and they said that the snow was pretty consolidated. They didn't take snowshoes or skis, just crampons. Hopefully that helps.

Howdy, the hike in will be slow and exhausting. Snow is still low into the portal. The trail ledges face south but the upper slabs and spree are wet and slippery. Try some portal rock dry sunny most pleasing. Tim
