Apparently a group of New York City firefighters took it upon themeselves to design a new piece of equipment that can be used to lower out of a burning building. Maybe some NYC climbers have heard more about this and can add some info. The article mentions: "Bill Duffy, a firefighter from East Harlem, offered the insights he has gained in six years of rock climbing."
