Sorry to resurrect this old thing, but I just wanted to note that my partners list is getting long, and that all of them have been good to climb with. I'd rope up again with each and every one, given the opportunity, especially caughtinside*. This past weekend I met up with bobruef at the new Earth Treks gym in Rockville, MD and had a smashing good time. Thanks, Bob! *You virsitile tool, you.

I checked my list and there were several people that I had not ever climbed with and a couple that I didn't recognize. How did they get on there? I took them off so as to not mislead anyone. If they want back on, I guess I could add them, though. Also, J_ung should be on that list, BUT HE BAILED ON ME! Jay, it looks like I may be coming up your way in April or May for a weekend. I'll let you know. Chris

Chris I'm starting to thing that was wise. :P Lemme know when you're coming up? Are you staying with Chris and Amy or do you need a place to crash? PS - those random people on your partner list are the ones who accidentally clicked the rope icon under your name.

I was going to move in, I mean stay with you. I am taking a couple of months off work. Is that spare bedroom ready? No, I am trying to coordinate with Aimee as to when they are going to be there. Trying to get there before my wife gets too pregnant for a 7 hour road trip.

In reply to: Camhead - hot and surprisingly, a freaking good climber although he doesn't get to practice much being in Dallas and all. :D Actually, I usually toprope project 5.6, but I was trying to impress this girl I was climbing with, so... me gusta la acacongua. Oh, and yes, Jay, I'm back in Dallas doing school stuff. We still need to climb sometime!

In reply to: In reply to: In reply to: me gusta la acacongua. Me gusta la conguama Carta Blanca. Es similar? gusto, nerds wrong. In the two examples above, the verb "gustar" applies not to the first person, but to "Carta Blanca" or "Acacongua." "Me" puts the first person into the direct object form, rather than the subject form. Gustar does not mean "like," it means something like "gives pleasure to"... So, the examples above mean that literally, "Acacongua gives pleasure to me," or "Carta Blanca gives pleasure to Timstich," rather than "I like Acacongua" or "Tim likes Carta Blanca." However, both "Acacongua" AND "conguama" are mispelled. And I could certainly say "Yo gusto a Acacongua." nerd.

You know, I wondered since I posted that if there was something I missed in my three years of high school Spanish, when I got mostly C's and D's. Now, I have my answer. I usually get "idiot" or "dipsh**". I haven't gotten "nerd" since I started being wrong all the time.

In reply to: "Acacongua gives pleasure to me I'm not sure if I liked reading that in an open forum. I think the actual translation is "Acacongua pleases me." It still sounds, um, personal, but not as personal.
