I have a friend coming in from from the midwest and he's always wanted to climb in the Valley.... can you blame him?? Tried to talk him into Lovers leap, donner summit, and even JT wont be as crowded.... so Yosemite it is. Camping reservations for this weekend have been booked solid for about three months. Anyone have any knowledge of decent car camping in or around the park where we could set a tent up and leave it for the weekend? We are not noisy people and respect other campers and property. Camp 4 is just too much to deal with, its a zoo... Been thereDone that. Any info is appreciated, Thanks..

P.S. If someone has extra room at thier campsite I'll buy you a case of beers if you let us flop in your site.

Cheers
Marcus

you can't car camp in the park. however, tioga pass only recently opened, and most of the tuolumne area sites are first come, first serve. climbing in that area of the park will also be cooler, or you can drive back into the valley during the day.

you can also stay at one of the many campsites just outside the park on 120, 140, etc., but it's a bit more of a commute (45-60 minutes).

good luck, and have fun!
